Heath Ledger Dead

What sad news to learn an actor with such talent may have committed suicide. I don't remember ever hearing a tremendous amount of gossip about Heath Ledger, so to hear he'd been found dead was shocking and sad. From A Knight's Tale to Brokeback Mountain, he was a tremenously talented person. To think of what more he could have given us as an actor is really disheartening.

I wasn't planning on seeing the next Batman movie but I think I will now, just to see one of his very last performances.

Global Warming

Due to the extreme cold in the Chicagoland area I've been thinking a lot about Global Warming, and tonight on CBS (60 Minutes) they had a full hour about global warming and how we, as the entire human race, need to take better care of the planet.

It's frightening what's happened to the environment and how much worse it will get. We've done so much damage that we can't undo the melting ice on the north pole or the shrinking glaciers in the south.

So we know about global warming. Now we have to change the way we live and the way our children live or else they won't have a liveable planet. Buying environmentally sound products from green companies like Evo and Seventh Generation, two of my favorites. Change light bulbs to the long lasting kind. Buy rechargable batteries. Get a hybrid vehicle, walk, or use public transportation. Buy trees to plant--companies like Giam offer you the opportunity to add trees to your order, which they plant).

Talking about global warming isn't enough. We need to act. Now.

Layla needs a new home!

Check out my website to see how you can help Layla and other dogs just like her get off death row and into foster care. Her date to be killed is January 24th. You can also see her on
by searching for zip code 46319.

If you can't adopt right now, consider donating even a few dollars to help defray costs from her spay and shots. She's just one of many dogs out there in need of a home--and remember to spay and neuter your own pets and help reduce the pet population. Fewer unwanted puppies and kittens means fewer dogs and cats put to sleep. In many shelters, kittens are killed as soon as they're done nursing since "if they're old enough to eat dry food, they're old enough to die". Oppose the death penalty! Have your pets altered now!

2nd Runner Up for Sex Between Strangers

Woo hoo! Okay, so it doesn't sound that impressive to be a second runner up in, well, anything, but I'm very pleased with the reception SEX BETWEEN STRANGERS received this past year. It had a lot of good reviews and now Book Utopia Mom put it on her best list for erotic romance fiction. It's the only short story on there, so I'm way pleased!

Thank you, Book Utopia, for compiling a list!
